Tram Refurbishment

INEKON TRAMS uses its capacity and experience in the refurbishing and repairing of trams. Inekon can provide a general overhaul of both older, and new types are meeting all the contemporary standards regarding operation and image, as well as small-scale modernization or replacement of some design features.
INEKON TRAMS offers to companies that use trams originally built in the Czech Republic or former Czechoslovakia the following services:

  • " complex technical counseling in the area of the rolling stock;
  • heavy-duty maintenance of trams;
  • general overhaul and refurbishment of trams (these extend the life span by twenty years and save up to forty-percent of energy)
  • extraordinary repair of trams (after accidents)
  • reconstruction of the drive and brake system, etc.;
  • procurement of spare parts even from abroad, including assembling, servicing, and diagnostics

SAVINGS AND PROLONGED LIFE SPAN

The average age of trams in operation in the Czech Republic is often more than 25 years. Many of them were produced even in 1960's. INEKON TRAMS can prolong their lifespan by twenty years. Among the advantages that the refurbishment brings are the improvement of useful properties, comfort and safety. Also, the electric energy savings can be increased by up to 40 percent. The refurbishment can take place most often within the framework of general overhauls; its scope differs case by case and depends on the customer's requirements. It can include, for example, as follows:

  • " car body modification, interior modernization, leaf door replacement, bogies repair and refurbishment
  • " cabling replacement and modification to connect the refurbished features
  • " replacement of the electrical equipment controls
