Superior Plus 100% Low Floor Tram!
Superior Plus is a 100 % Low Floor Tram designed for Toronto's unique requirements and specifications, issued in the original Request For Proposal by TTC in January 2008. Skoda - Inekon consortium has available all calculations for safety against derailment, traction characteristics and energy consumption for Queen Route profile as it is required in Vehicle Technical Specification. Skoda - Inekon Consortium created in July of 2008 has asked Toronto TTC to be added to the list of companies to negotiate. Skoda - Inekon Consortium is ready to build a prototype at short notice if asked so by Toronto TTC!

Superior Plus in 12 m radius curve. It is apparent in the drawing how a mechanical coupling connects two middle car sections and their trucks. This mechanical coupling provides minimum yaw angle of truck rotation about the car body, improves significantly guiding forces between wheel and rail and provides the widest car body.
This mechanical coupling is of simple and reliable design which is proven in the operation of 435 pieces of KT4 streetcar vehicles produced by CKD Prague for many European cities. These vehicles have been in revenue operation for more than 20 years.
